The Distinguished Lecturer Series at Manhattanville Features Dr. Margaret (Terry) Orr
Manhattanville College, School of Education announces its first Distinguished Lecturer of the year, Dr. Margaret (Terry) Orr.
Manhattanville College, School of Education in conjunction with the Teacher Center of Central Westchester and the Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES, is pleased to announce its first distinguished lecturer of the year, Dr. Margaret (Terry) Orr.
Dr. Margaret (Terry) Orr is director of the Future School Leaders Academy at Bank Street College. She is primarily interested in leadership preparation and development, and school restructuring and improvement. She has been instrumental in New York in helping to frame the assessment system for school administrators. She received her Ph.D. in Educational Administration (specializing in organizational change and evolution, minor: sociology), at the Teachers College, Columbia University.
Dr. Orr will be discussing “Developing Self, Developing Others: Implications of New York State’s New Teacher and Leader Evaluation System for School Leaders.” The lecture will be held in the Ophir Room in Reid Castle on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011 from 4:20 p.m.-6:00 p.m.

The Manhattanville School of Education has full accreditation through NCATE (National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education). The program offers New York State certification through undergraduate and graduate programs.
