J.J. Pryor is an experienced marketing and communications senior management professional who has worked in the private, nonprofit and higher education sectors. 

She specializes in positioning and packaging products, services and causes to increase visibility and to attract and engage target audiences.  J.J. also has a background in community relations, corporate giving and foundation activities, alliances, licensing, and partnerships.

Recently, J.J. was appointed Managing Director of the Office of Communications.  In this position she will be responsible for advancing Manhattanville College’s mission and vision by designing and implementing effective public relations, marketing communications, web content, and digital media strategies reporting to the President of the College.

Prior to accepting the position as Managing Director,  J.J. was Assistant Vice President, University Communications, Howard University, for six years where she served as spokesperson and was responsible for executive communications, media relations, internal communications, promotions, publications, and issues and crisis management,

Previously she also served as Vice President, Marketing & Communications for the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Director, Public Relations for U.S. Consumer Products at MCI Communications Corp., and Executive Director of the MCI Foundation. In addition, J.J. has held positions with such companies as DuPont, Johnson & Johnson and Owens-Illinois, and several New York agencies including Manning, Selvage & Lee and Rumrill-Hoyt, Inc. (Saatchi & Saatchi agency).

J.J. holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University.
