It was constructed during the 1920's and 1930's and its architecture reflects the rustication typical of that period. Particularly notable are the stone-arch bridges and stone buildings such as the service station just south of Exit 25 in White Plains. Today that station is a popular pit-stop servicing both north and southbound motorists. (Look for the cellular tower dressed up as a tree.) The Parkway does not allow commercial traffic.
