The Harrison Recreation Department offers a comprehensive and diversified program for all ages, from pre-schoolers to…More senior citizens.
Year round indoor activities are held in the department's three community centers. Outdoor activities includng swimming, tennis, softball, baseball and picnicking are held in community parks and on school fields.
During the summer, five day camp programs are conducted.
Annual events include Spring Egg Hunts, Halloween Programs, summer concerts and sports tournaments.
The Recreation Department runs three community centers; the Leo Mintzer Center, the Sollazzo Center and the Harrison Community Center.
The Recreation Department sponsors two Senior Citizens Clubs; the West Harrison Group and the Downtown Group. The West Harrison Group meets from 12-3 pm on Thursdays at the Leo Mintzer Community Center. The Downtown Group meets from 12-3 pm on Fridays at the Veterans Memorial Building.
Program brochures are available at the recreation office in the Municipal Building and Community Centers. An up-to-date Harrison Recreation ID Card is required to participate in Recreation Department activities.
