Oh, please. A drink that costs pennies on the dollar, and he's treated like a he set someone's carRead More or lawn on fire. Where were these signs? And if he was doing something wrong, no one noticed before? Or did they drag it out?

Gerry Horne what I think you are missing is that the fine is $525 for something that cost 89 cents.Read More That's what is disgusting. The rent a cop could have given him a warning and let him pay the freaking 89 cents. Then if he was caught again then taken it to the next level. Now this guy has a huge fine and can no longer work at his job site. All of this for a freaking soda...unbelievable!!!! OUTRAGEOUS!!!

The addition of Teatown Nature 'Preserve' ruins this entire otherwise-good article: TeatownRead More violated its own principles and outraged the community by ordering the slaughter of innocent deer - and LURING them to the area by placing food bait before shooting them to death. Please sign our petition to stop Teatown from this aggriegious activity in the future, thank you!: http://www.change.org/petitions/kevin-carter-teatown-nature-preserve-stop-the-deer-slaughter
Christopher Pagli April 17, 2014 at 03:48 pm
I will be removing them from the list for that very reason!
Anne Marie Marx April 17, 2014 at 05:47 pm
I agree that including Teatown Nature "Preserve" is a misnomer. I wouldn't call a placeRead More that lures innocent animals to baiting stations so that they can be shot in the head at night by sharpshooters preserving nature. More people must be made aware of Teatown's appalling actions so that they can be stopped. They publicize what supports their squeaky clean image. They hide and keep secret the dirty deeds that don't conform to their image!

You can believe the Mayor of New York will use this footage to help his case to get rid of ALL horseRead More drawn carriages in New York he promised he would do.

Horses should not be nose to exhaust pipe on city streets. That is cruelty and the horse had hadRead More enough.
kathleen macmurray April 17, 2014 at 08:46 am
A horse and carriage ride in a park, fine. But not on busy, crowded city streets. It's cruel to theRead More horse and dangerous to everyone else. I'm with the NYC mayor on this one.

The cause must become the solution as the solution becomes the cause. In a government build from theRead More ground up, change must come the same way. To expect it otherwise is to invite disappointment and frustration which seems a fair assessment of where we seem to be collectively as exemplified by the tone in many of the replies to this thread alone.

If they would only enforce the "Keep Right, Pass Left" law, they would get rid of most ofRead More the "aggressive driving" (moving around dangerously between lanes and passing on the right) and road rage simply because there would be no one holding them up in the left lane. "Keep Right, Pass Left" is easier to enforce than speeding and would also make the enforcement of speeding easier since those speeding would most likely be in the left lane. Win, win, win. This, along with signaling lane changes, is what makes the Autobahn (with very high speed limits /no speed limits at all) safer than the US highways.
Bryan Rivera April 17, 2014 at 02:25 pm
How many LI drivers are routinely using the Taconic? NY State police don't patrol the LIE, so youRead More can still drive like an asshole there during "speed week." They do patrol the parkways, though, so I guess you can expect to see three or even four state police cars as opposed to the normal one per parkway.

I'm in favor of anything that promotes adoption - but doing it with a 'stop-watch', whether adoptingRead More an animal or a child, doesn't sound like the absolute best idea.

New York Patriot, you're the one the challenge me, I produced, now we change the subject, howRead More convenient. conservatives do it all the time, they can't answer a question so they change the subject.
New York Patriot April 17, 2014 at 05:48 pm
Mr. Wulterin, I posted a comment to which you responded as follows: "New York Patriot, that'sRead More so dumb, it doesn't deserve a response." It was on that basis that our conversation began. If I challenged you on anything, it was to cease and desist your name calling, angry, disrespectful commenting. I also challenged you to allow for the idea that people come in many flavors in terms of thoughts, beliefs and opinions. Your responses appear to showcase your inability to be a civil, tolerant, respectful, productive participant in this conversation. Thus, I will no longer engage you and suggest others consider doing likewise. Have a pleasant evening.
