Come on fix the rink already. Why is that such a major deal? They knew it was leaking last yearRead More before the hurricane. They planned on fixing it this April. There is nothing better than a community coming together for a great cause. Team Dawg thanks and applauds all involved!

What about the kids who are losing money because of this event? There are kids whose families loseRead More income every year because of the inconsiderate conduct. Is a kid who plays soccer more deserving than one who doesn't?
Shut Up March 13, 2013 at 01:15 pm
Gee, sorry you're inconvenienced for ONE weekend a year. Why don't you write a check for the moneyRead More raised in support of the hundreds of kids who play soccer in Rye Brook. "Considerate?" The mindless, self-centered selfishness of some people is amazing. I just hope you're from the Greenwich side of the street, because I wouldn't want you for a neighbor.
Working Mom March 9, 2013 at 02:52 am
The tournament days are nightmares for the people who live nearby. Rye Brook Youth Soccer should beRead More more considerate of others in the village - or else let some other town have the honor of hosting these events in the future.

Very true! Months back, I started noticing a change in my son’s character. He was growing toRead More be practically scared of everything around him. I later learned that he was developing a sense of phobia and inferiority complex in him that he was too weak to defend himself from his schoolmates who found it interesting to bully him physically and mentally. I grew worried about this and desperately looked around for a solution. That is when I happened to hear about Classical Martial Arts Centre in Toronto. After having enrolled at the Classical Martial Arts Centre, my son has never been the same. He is confident and mentally strong now. He is focused and is doing pretty well in his academics. He now knows how to defend himself and is no longer scared of anything around him. The meditation classes that he attended there have worked out for the best. Certainly, karate can boost the confidence level in children!
Racman63 February 14, 2013 at 07:27 pm
Absolutely nothing. Thomas' comment does not offer a contrary opinion, or even a knowledgeableRead More critique of martial arts; instead, he represents another stellar example of the thorough mind scouring that the American Taliban (i.e. the Christian Right) has perpetrated on a vast segment of contemporary American society. Someday Thomas may read a book other than the Bible, perhaps he'll discover some of the fine Christian thinkers such as Dietrich Bonhoeffer, or consider the historical crimes perpetrated upon indigenous peoples in the name of J.C., or maybe one day his conscience will simply and miraculously alight to the realization that he's been utterly, thoroughly and completely wrong in his world view. But until that day comes, he's entitled to his opinion, as am I.
