Given that we pay the highest taxes in the nation, it is strange that there has to be aRead More "public/private partnership" to this degree.
Jim Harrison May 14, 2013 at 03:21 pm
I agree 100%. I was there as well last Sat. and brought my high school age daughter. Most of herRead More White Plains High School friends were there with their families. It was a great day for everyone.

Rob Astorino claims "Families don't go to Playland anymore." But when I was there on aRead More rainy cold opening day on Saturday, I was SURROUNDED by nothing but families - even HIS family was there. They all came out in the lousy weather to have a good time. Parents and kids and grandparents and every combo of aunt uncle cousin etc. you could imagine, all different colors, ethnicities, cultural backgrounds, many different languages being spoken, everyone happy to see the place open again, getting along, smiling, having a good time. I think I was about the only person there who *wasn't* with kids. Families families families. But...don't you know...families don't go to Playland anymore? People love Playland. They want to see it brought back to life as a vibrant amusement park, not dismantled for a grassy field and indoor sports facility.

You must be the only person in Westchester that doesn't have wonderful feelings/memories aboutRead More Playland. It is so sad.

Come on fix the rink already. Why is that such a major deal? They knew it was leaking last yearRead More before the hurricane. They planned on fixing it this April. Then the hurricane comes flood the basement and oh my god the roof is shot. No kidding, it was shot for years. This smells and no one is doing anything about it.

Maybe they can start on the rink roof now.

Why would you assume that, Immanuel Iita? Do you know me or any other commenter? You are recyclingRead More one of the most tired and overused arguments that people bring up whenever someone speaks out on behalf of animals. Compassion is compassion regardless of where it is directed, and the same goes for cruelty. This person should be investigated. Do you really think someone who would lack the most basic humanity and could not dial the SPCA to come get her animals is capable of taking care of a child?
Kim May 10, 2013 at 11:55 am
Uhhh, no. It is a crime.

I agree.

It's not a quibble, Jerry. For those who read about this glorious fair but can't make it now forRead More whatever reason, there is another opportunity in the fall. Traditionally it's pretty much the same vendors.
Jerry Eimbinder May 5, 2013 at 01:36 pm
Lets not quibble. The Crafts at Lyndhurst Spring Edition is an annual event. As is the LyndhurstRead More fall show which will be held this year on Sept. 20-22. Together they form a biannual or semiannual (either term means occurring twice a year) event.
