When: Friday, August 9, 2013, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. as well as Sunday, August 11 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Monday, August 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Description: Calling all tag sale and rummage mavens! Come to this big sale. Monday will be Bag Day, which allows one price for everything that fits in one bag.

Elmsford: Teen and Tween Yoga 

Where: Greenburgh Public Library, 300 Tarrytown Road, Elmsford

When: Friday, August 9, 2013, 3 to 5 p.m.

Cost: Free

Description: Do you currently enjoy yoga?  Do you want to learn how to start?  Come out to the Greenburgh Library to learn from a Master teacher, Kendra from the Dragonfly Wellness Center in Ossining. Katonah: Summer Fest in Katonah

Where: Katonah United Methodist Church, 5 Bedford Road, Katonah

When:  Sat., Aug. 10, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Cost: Free

Description: Big plates of peach shortcake, ice cream and whipped cream will be the featured attraction. Various children’s activities and games will be included. Weather permitting, the 

festivities will be held on the front lawn under the shade trees.  If it rains, the peach shortcake & ice cream will be served up in the Parish Hall behind the church at 44 Edgemont Road. Come celebrate the pleasures of a good old-fashioned summer with your family!

Mamaroneck: The Marine Education Center is Open

Where: Harbor Island Park, Mamaroneck, NY

When:  Sat., Aug. 10, 10 a.m.

Cost: Free

Description: Stop in  and see new live fish from Mamaroneck Harbor. The center features live horseshoe crabs, spider crabs and great photos of birds taken in and around Mamaroneck Harbor . All the exhibits are hands on and provide a  Marine Education Center for all ages. 

Mt. Kisco: Bees at Westmoreland Sanctuary

Where: Westmoreland Sanctuary, 260 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Mt. Kisco

When: Sat., Aug. 10, 10 a.m.

Cost: Free for members, $5 for non-members

Description: Learn about the role of Honeybees and other native pollinators in our local environment.  A slide show and lecture explaining the role of insect pollination, natural history of the honey bee, and their relation to native insect pollinators will be followed by a walk outdoors to see who is pollinating flowers in the sanctuary’s gardens and habitats.  The walk will be canceled in the event of rain.

Ossining: Ossining’s Bicentennial Movies Under the Stars presents Jaws

Where: Louis Engel Waterfront Park, Westerly Road, Ossining

When: Friday, August 9, 9 p.m.

Cost: Free

Description: The Village of Ossining’s Bicentennial Celebration continues with a showing of the 1975 cult classic Jaws on the beach at Louis Engel Waterfront Park. Starring Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, and Richard Dreyfuss. Pre-movie concert featuring classic-rock trio Powderfinger begins at 7:30 p.m. Moviegoers are encouraged to bring a blanket or comfortable low-back chair. Port Chester: Shakespeare in The Park

When: Pine Ridge Park Aug. 8 and 9 and Pine Ridge Park in Rye Brook Aug. 10.  All performances are at 5:45 p.m.

Cost: Suggested donations are $20 general public and $15 for seniors 65 and older and children 12 and under.

Description: Port Chester Council for the Arts presents LawnChair Theater, a Shakespeare production in the park, this weekend with a Mad Men-inspired performance of “The Taming of the Shrew.”  Details here

Sleepy Hollow: Annual Small Press Celebration

Where: Hudson Valley Writers' Center, 300 Riverside Drive, Sleepy Hollow

When: Sunday, August 11, 2013, 4:30 PM

Cost: $5 

Description: Slapering Hol Press, the imprint of The Hudson Valley Writers' Center, hosts this annual celebration of small presses.  Come listen to authors from several small presses – Mayapple Press, Cod Hill Press, & The Westchester Review – read during what has always been a full house. Tarrytown: Todd Rundgren Performs

Where: Tarrytown Music Hall, 13 Main St, Tarrytown

As a songwriter, video pioneer, producer, recording artist, computer software developer, conceptualist, and, most recently, interactive artist (re-designated TR-i), Rundgren has made a lasting impact on both the form and content of popular music. He is back with his first new album of original material since 2008′s "Arena." Tarrytown: Music in the Mansion, Border Crossings

White Plains: Into Me Wellness Center Grand Opening!

Where: 250 Tarrytown Road, White Plains 

When: Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at 10 a.m.

Cost: Free

Description: Into Me is a full service Wellness Center that offers fitness training, colonics, Far Infra Red Sauna, Lymphatic Enhancement Therapy, Pain Management therapy and more. On Saturday, Aug. 10, the Center will celebrate its grand opening with food, refreshments, a free raffle and 20 percent off any service or package of sessions purchased. 

White Plains: Apocalypse Event: August 10th, White Plains

Where:  Comic Book Heaven at 200 Hamilton Avenue (White Plains Mall) 

When: Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Cost: $10 entry fee.

Description: This Saturday August 10, the Battle For Salvation Gaming club will be hosting an Apocalypse event at Comic Book Heaven at 200 Hamilton Avenue (White Plains Mall) in White Plains, NY.   The event will run from 10 AM to about 6 PM, Imperial vs. Xenos 2000-2500 points per player. $10 entry fee will cover prize support.

Yorktown: Summer Flea Market Fundraiser

When: Saturday, Aug. 10 at 10 a.m. 

Where: 3565 Crompond Road RT. 202 Parkside Plaza Yorktown

Cost: Free

Description: There will be vendors, food, drinks, face painting, entertainment and more. The fundraiser will benefit Yorktown Love in Action, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping local residents.
