Westchester County announces the return of the 2014 Miss New York USA and Miss New York Teen USA pageants Jan. 18-19 at the Performing Arts Center at Purchase College.

“We are thrilled to host the pageants for a third year in a row and look forward to welcoming a record number of contestants and their families to Westchester County for a memorable weekend,” said Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino.  “This event is not only a lot of fun, but also brings in new tourism dollars by attracting thousands of visitors to our hotels, restaurants, shops and all that Westchester County has to offer.”

More than 270 young women from across New York are expected to compete for the prestigious titles of Miss New York USA and Miss New York Teen USA. The pageant is the official preliminary to the MISS TEEN USA, MISS USA and MISS UNIVERSE pageants.

The newly-crowned titleholders will receive a prize package valued at over $500,000 in cash, prizes and scholarships, and have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to represent New York at the 2014 Miss USA and 2014 Miss Teen USA pageants.

The official host hotel for this year’s pageant is the Renaissance Westchester Hotel in White Plains. The historic property recently completed a $13 million renovation including a complete overhaul of its guest rooms, suites, meeting spaces and restaurant.

The pageants consist of four separate shows scheduled to take place in the Concert Hall at the Performing Arts Center at SUNY Purchase College. Performing at this year’s event will be international sensation Alex Boye. Also performing is New York’s own, DJ Ria, spinning live for the evening gown competition.

The event will be hosted by Lynn Morehouse, Miss North Carolina USA 1994, 2nd runner-up to MISS USA and 13-time Emmy Award Winner, Jim Donovan, lead consumer reporter for CBS 3 Eyewitness News in Philadelphia.
