Harrison: Harrison Republican Committee Annual Picnic

Where: Veteran's Memorial  Park, 100 Crystal St, in Harrison

When: Sunday, Sept. 15 at noon

Hastings-on-Hudson: Hastings Jazz Benefit Concert

WhereThe First Reformed Church of Hastings, 24 Farragut Ave  Hastings-On-Hudson.

When: Saturday, Sept. 14 at 4 p.m.

Why go: For the third consecutive year, a benefit concert will raise funds for Hastings Helps the Hungry and The Sharing Community of Yonkers. Three-time Grammy winning bassist John Patitucci will lead his band in the evening of jazz. There will be a silent auction.

Irvington: Church Attic Sale

Where:Irvington Presbyterian Church, 25 N Broadway, Irvington, NY

When: Friday, Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cost: Free

Why go: The Presbyterian Church is throwing is annual attic sale Friday and Saturday. Stop by to browse a selection of household items, clothing, books, collectibles and more. 

Mount Vernon: Benedict Arnold as a British General

Where: St. Paul's Church N.H.S., 897 S. Columbus Av. in Mt. Vernon

When: Saturday, Sept.14, 1 p.m.

Cost: Free

Description: Enjoy a living history performance exploring the experiences of Benedict Arnold as a general in the British Army during his invasion of Connecticut, his home state, in 1781.  There’s also a 3 p.m. tour of the historic church and Bell Tower, as well as the cemetery, one of the nation’s oldest burial yards. 

North Salem: The American Gold Cup

When: Through Sunday, Sept. 15

Where: Old Salem Farm, 190 June Rd. in North Salem

Cost: $10 for children 12 and under and seniors 65 and older; $15 for adults. Children under 3 enter for free.

Why go: The renowned equestrian event – the American Gold Cup – has come to Northern Westchester for the second year in a row. It showcases world-class equestrian competition's sheer equine power, speed and excitement. Cheer on the country's top riders and their equine partners as they compete to win the prestigious 43rd annual American Gold Cup trophy. Putnam Valley: Oktoberfest!

Where:  11 Kramers Pond Rd, Putnam Valley, N.Y

When: Saturday, Sept. 14, 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 15, noon to 8 p.m.

Description: Oktoberfest at the German American Club! Come have a wonderful time under a giant tent and visit our clubhouse! Scarsdale: The Friends of Scarsdale Public Library Annual Book Sale

When: Sunday, Sept. 15, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Scarsdale Library, Olmsted Road and Post Road, Scarsdale, NY

Cost: Free

Description: The Friends of the Scarsdale Public Library is ending it's annual book sale, which began Sept. 6, on Sunday with a blowout sale. The Book Sale boasts more than 60,000 almost-new and out-of-print books, including bestsellers, classics, biographies, fiction, parenting, cooking, art and antiques, computers, humor, self-help, drama, religion, business and poetry.  All books are presorted into categories for the buyer’s convenience. There is also a large selection of books for children, as well as DVDs, CDs, books on tape, and sheet music.

Sleepy Hollow: Immaculate Conception Parish Weekend Feast

 Where: 199 North Broadway, Sleepy Hollow

When: Friday, Sept. 13 and Saturday, Sept. 14, 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, 5 to 9 p.m. 

Cost: Free (raffle tickets for Mini Cooper are $100; general raffle tickets for money prizes, $20 or 6 for $100.)

Description: Everyone’s welcome to the annual festival/fundraiser for Sleepy Hollow’s Immaculate Conception Church. Italian food including pizza, frita, sausage and peppers, spaghetti and meatballs, along with burgers, hotdogs, wine, beer and soda. Games, fun for all, with bouncy rides for the kids. Enter a raffle to win a 2014 Mini Cooper Countryman listed at $27,145 or money prizes up to $5,000.

Somers: Gaming Club at Library

When: Friday, Sept. 13 at 3 p.m. 

Where: Somers Library, Route 139 & Reis Park, Somers, NY

Cost: Free

Description: The library staff is asking students to join them to play all different types of games from video games (Nintendo Wii & PS3), to board games, card games, and any other type of game you want. It is open to both middle school and high school students.

Rye Brook: Fall Fling (It's a Kid's Fair) Food Drink Jump Castles

When: Saturday, Sept. 14 at 10 a.m. 

Where: St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 761 King St, Rye Brook, N

Cost: Free

Description: Fundraiser for St. Paul's Church and Child Care Center. Food, games, prizes, jumping castles, vendors. Rain Date Sept. 21.

Tarrytown-Sleepy Hollow: 9-11 Ceremony

When:Sunday, September 15, 9 a.m.

Where: The Washington Street side of Patriot’s Park, north of the entrance to the park.  There is a 9-11 monument located near the brook on that side of the park.

Cost: Free 

Description: The Fire Departments of the Villages of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow will be conducting their annual 9-11 Ceremony this Sunday.  Fire Department personnel will be assembling in the park between 8:30 a.m. and 8:45 a.m.

White Pains: Kickoff for the First Annual White Plains Wellness Week

Where: Court Street, between Martine Ave. & Main St.

When: Sunday, Sept.15, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Description: The White Plains Cares Coalition along with the White Plains Youth Bureau and the City of White Plains is proud to present the 1st Annual Wellness Week from Sunday, September 15 - Monday, September 23.  Wellness Week promotes "LIVING WELLNESS" by celebrating the Eight Dimensions of Wellness - emotional, intellectual, physical, financial, occupational, spiritual, environmental, and social wellness.  Wellness Week will start with a Kick-Off Event on Sunday, September 15 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM on Court Street (between Martine Ave. & Main St.) in the heart of downtown White Plains. The Kick-Off event is being sponsored by Crossfit Westchester, Crunch Fitness, and Sancia Health Care Inc. The event will feature interactive dance and fitness demonstrations, information tables from area wellness providers, music, and fun activities for kids and the whole family.
