Photos: Yanks Skipper Visits Harrison Library

Joe Girardi visited the Harrison Library Sunday afternoon as part of a fundraiser for the Harrison Public Library Foundation.

New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi stepped to the plate for the Harrison Public Library Foundation Sunday afternoon, signing autographs and visiting with fans as part of a fundraiser.

The event was the first official fundraiser for the Harrison Public Library Foundation, a private group that is working to raise funds to improve Harrison's libraries.

On Sunday, fans who purchased an "MVP Package" for $225 received two autographs and also had the opportunity to get their photo taken with Girardi. The Yankees manager then signed autographs for other fans at a per-item rate. The event was held at the downtown .

Organizers said they were thrilled with the participation and that the event brings them one step closer to their goal.
