Harrison Basketball Teams Assist Food Pantry

Harrison's varsity and CYO basketball teams have donated checks to help support the Harrison Food Pantry.

Harrison basketball teams are doing their share to support the Harrison Food Pantry, donating more than $1,200 this week.

A $518 check will be presented by head varsity basketball coach Gary Chiarella at the next town board meeting on behalf of the varsity and junior varsity teams.

According to the meeting's agenda, the food pantry will also accept a $775 check from the St. Gregory's CYO basketball. The St. Gregory's varsity team recently completed a .

The donations come just a few weeks after the Harrison Association of Teacher's made a donation of $4,000 to support the pantry.

Located on Crotona Avenue, the food pantry helps support more than 100 local families in need throughout the year. Numerous individuals and town organizations contribute to the pantry on a regular basis.
