DPW Gives to Acocella Memorial Fund

Rich Donafrio and Joseph Acocella Sr. presented the donation to the Harrison Town Board Thursday evening.

The Harrison Department of Public Works donated more than $500 to the Joseph Acocella Jr. Memorial Fund Thursday evening.

Setup in the weeks following the sudden death of then Harrison Town Clerk Joseph Acocella Jr., the memorial fund uses donations to support a charity every year selected by the Acocella family. The charities are groups and organizations the late town clerk supported during his lifetime.

Rich Donafrio from the Harrison Department of Public Works joined Joseph Acocella Sr. to officially present the $525 check to the Harrison Town Board Thursday evening.

The memorial fund has also accepted donations from the Harrison Recreation Department, Harrison Police Benevolent Association (PBA), Harrison Town Board and several other town entities to date.
