Basketball Team Presents Food Pantry Donation

Harrison's varsity basketball team presented a check for $518 to the Harrison Town Board Thursday evening. The donation will help stock the shelves of the Harrison Food Pantry.

Free-throws sank by the Harrison basketball team had a bigger meaning than points on a scoreboard this year, as the team used a "Free Throw Fundraiser" to raise money for local charities.

The varsity and junior varsity teams donated a portion of the money raised to the Harrison Food Pantry at Thursday evening's Town Board Meeting. Head Coach Gary Chiarella joined four members of the varsity team to present a check for $518.

The donation was on the meeting's agenda last week. The pantry also accepted a check from St. Gregory's CYO Basketball for $775.
