Youth Football: Steelers and Falcons Capture Wins

A look at this week in Harrison youth football.

Junior Division (Grade 3)

  • Saints 21 Chiefs 7

The Saints scored on a Troy Straus 30-yard touchdown run, Tyler Joseph 29-yard touchdown run and a Charlie Canell 51-yard touchdown run. The Saints defense was led by David Cross, Tyler Joseph, Victor Cottini, Michael Castellano, Carson Feldman, Jason Stalteri and Anthony Castellano.

The Chiefs scored on an Evan Falco 10-yard touchdown run. The defense was led by Nicholas Speres, Anthony Kang, Ben Hoexter, Brendan Gittings, Peter Fraioli, Anthony Rivera, Austin Corvino and Victor Arcara.

College Division (Grades 4 and 5)

  • Georgia 7 Iowa 6

In very well played contest, Georgia scored on a 32-yard touchdown pass from James Godvin to Frankie Robollo. Godvin passed to Ryan Dahnke for the extra point. Marcello Robollo had seven tackles, Ryan Dahke had four tackles, Dylan Woolf, J.J. Pirrello and Otse Yosuke had three tackles each  to lead Georgia’s defense.

Iowa scored on a 31 yard touchdown pass from Connor Novak to Billy O’Meara to make the game 7 to 6, but was just short on the extra point. Defense was led by Billy O’Meara's 11 tackles, Joseph Cherico's seven tackles, Charlie Sheffield, Connor Novak and Ethan Graber had five tackles each.

  • Kentucky 13 Lousville 0

Kentucky scored on two Chris DiRusso touchdown runs of 16 and 5 yards. The defense was led by Frankie Nannariello's seven tackles, Zachary Berman's five tackles and Attilio Crupi's four tackles. Zach Hoexter, Ethan Kohn and Pablo Rolon all played great for Kentucky.

The Louisville defense was led by Anthony Gjokaj's eight tackles and Robert Forigone's six tackles. Joey Ciufo, Anthony Barchella, Philip Marraccini and Liam Aloni had 4 tackles each. Alex Miller, Brett Robinson and Chris Evangista also played well.

  • Northwestern 14 Oregon 0

In a hard-hitting game, Northwestern scored on two Tyson Comizio touchdowns. First on a Dante Girardi 46-yard touchdown pass and then on a 10-yard touchdown run. The defense was led by Matt Hoffman (five tackles), Jace Struzzi, Jack Pflieger and Dylan Davis (three tackles each).

Oregon was led by Greg Lucien, seven tackles, Alex Siapanides, six tackles, Michael Vukel, five tackles, Jonathan Smrek, Ben Seibel and Justin Altamuro had four tackles each.

Pro Division (Grades 6 and 7)

  • Steelers 7 Raiders 0

In a very exciting game, Justin Sanchez scored on a 40-yard touchdown run for the Steelers on the last play of the 3rd quarter. Cameron Brown had six tackles, Nick Coppola had five tackles and Zach Jones had four tackles to lead the Steelers. 

The Raiders ended the game on drive all the way down to inside the 10-yard line. They were led by Luke McCarthy (seven tackles), Jonathan Morales (five tackles), Steven Maldonado (four tackles) and Michael Gentile (three tackles).

  • Falcons 6 Vikings 0

In this hard-hitting battle, the Falcons scored on a Stephen Windisch 60-yard touchdown pass from Michael Cappelli. Nahuel Aguirre recovered two fumbles and had five tackles. Thomas Gresham, Conor Gates and Austin Evans each had six tackles, Michael Cappelli had four tackles and an interception for the Falcons.

The Vikings were led by Jordan Gaitley's seven tackles, Douglas Dorado's six tackles, Tyler Menniti had an interception and five tackles. Jack Woolf had four tackles, Cameron Berkowitz and Joseph Marraccini had three tackles each.
