Youth Football: Georgia, Kentucky and Northwestern Capture Wins

An update on this week in Harrison youth football.

Junior Division (3rd Grade)

  • Bills  7   -  Chiefs  7

In a unbelievable finish, the Chiefs tied the score on Victor Arcara 15-yard touchdown run. Then the Chiefs ended the game with a drive down to the 1-yard line. The Chiefs defense was led by Nicholas Speres, Zach Lopane, Ben Hoexter, Tristan An, Evan Falco and Peter Fraioli.

The Bills scored first on a Kobe Comizio 10-yard touchdown run. The Bills defense was led by A.J. Troilo's eight tackles. Joseph Santarelli, Ethan Wiederkehr and Casey Judelson also contributed.

College Division (4th & 5th Grades)

  • Georgia  13  -   Louisville  0  

Georgia scored on a 23-yard touchdown run from James Godvin and Ryan Dahnke had a 2-yard touchdown run. Dylan Woolf, Cole Montesano, Alzate Geovanni, John Scofield and Chase Montesano had three tackles each to lead Georgia’s defense.

Louisville was led by the outstanding play of Philip Marraccini, Alex Miller, Robert Forgione, Liam Aloni, Anthony Barchella, Jimmy Horvath and Brett Robinson.

  • Kentucky  19   Oregon  6

The Kentucky offense exploded on Ethan Kohn, Chris DiRusso and Joseph Reilly touchdown runs of 3, 22 and one yards. The Kentucky defense was led by Pablo Rolon, Sam Glaser, Darien Sharpe and Spencer Gordon.

Oregon scored on a 23-yard touchdown run by Justin Altamuro. The defense was led by Marco Angarano's eight tackles and Ben Seibel's six tackles. Sora Suzuki, Greg Lucien, Michael Vukel, Kimball Neilson, Michael Plotkin and Jonathan Smrek also contributed.

  • Northwestern   19   Iowa  13

In a very exciting game, Northwestern scored on two Dante Girardi touchdown runs of 24 and two yards. Tyson Comizio scored on a 65-yard touchdown run. The defense was led by Matt Hoffman, Lightning Roggero, Alejandro Aguirre and Anthony Mangone.

Iowa scored on two Billy O’Meara touchdown runs of 27 and two yards. The defense was led by Connor Novak's seven tackles and great play from Asher Porphy, Andrew Loreti, Tamio Shibasaki and George Speres.

Pro Division (6th & 7th Graders)

  • Raiders  8   -  Colts  0  

Luke McCarthy opened the second half with a 75 yard touchdown run and Kevin Saavedra kicked the extra point for the Raiders. Raiders were led by Dylan Karofsky, Eric Bratberg and Jack Doty who had seven tackles each.
The Colts were led by Scott Lobel and Matt Donohue, who each had an interception. Alex Fameli, Michael Rozell & Jay Martins all played great.

  • Vikings   13  -  Steelers  8

In a see-saw battle, the Vikings came from behind to scored on Jack Woolf's 60-yard touchdown run followed by a Douglas Dorado score late in the fourth quarter to give Vikings a 13 to 8 lead. Joseph Marraccini, Sebastian Prado, Derek Ferraro and Jordan Gaitley all played outstanding for the Vikings.

The Steelers scored on a Justin Sanchez 3-yard touchdown run and Chris Scazzero kicked the extra point. Nicholas Coppola, Luke Steinthal, Ryan Murphy, Joseph Martino, Chris Forgione, Cameron Brown and Zach Jones all played great for the Steelers.

  • Falcons  16   -  Raiders   0

In a hard-hitting game the Falcons scored on a Michael Cappelli 14-yard and Ethan Evans 2-yard touchdown runs. Nahuel Aguirre kicked both extra points. Thomas Gresham's seven tackles and Austin Evans' five tackles led the way. Nahuel Aguirre and Nicholas Abadir played outstanding for the Falcons.

Luke McCarthy (eight tackles), Dylan Karofsky (six tackles), Eric Bratbreg (five tackles), Dominick Loiacono (five tackles) and Jonathan Morales (four tackles) all played great for the Raiders.
