Thanks to the holidays, the majority of the Huskies had the weekend off. Harrison’s cross country team did compete in the Manhattan Invitational. The boys had a tough showing as they finished 20th of the 30 teams in the competition, the team was led by Chris D’Antona and Tray Wasilesky.

The girls also had a difficult time as they finished 18th. Sara Purinton continued her stellar junior year as she finished with a time of just over 17 minutes.

Harrison will continue to look toward two big rivalries this week. The town will be buzzing for the next few days as students celebrate spirit week leading up to the annual Rye Game. For Tuesday’s spirit week theme, students will be wearing pajamas in the hopes to put the 2-3 Garnets to sleep.

Not to be outdone by their football counterparts, the Harrison volleyball team will take on Fox Lane with a league title at stake. Fox Lane won the early season matchup 3-2, but Harrison has not lost since the game.

Harrison’s senior two-sport athlete Jessica Segal won the Con Ed Award last week. Segal is the captain of the school’s dominant volleyball team.

Harrison has no games today, but the Huskies have a full slate of competition set for Tuesday.
