Two-Sport Star Deliallisi Leads In Senior Season

Korado Deliallisi had a great year as a football player and is now a captain on Harrison's wrestling team.

Harrison senior Korado Deliallisi played almost every down this fall for one of the best Harrison football teams in recent memory. This winter, he is leading the way for the Husky wrestling team.

Deliallisi was one of Harrison’s best two-way players on the football team this year, and while the majority of the credit tends to go toward the skill position players, fans shouldn’t overlook the work done by young men on the line.

With Harrison dealing with injuries to the front line Deliallisi was also willing to shift spots or play out of position to help the team. His leaderships helped create one of the most feared interior lines in Section I this year.

“Making it to states for football made me realize that you can actually do anything if you put your mind to it, and it’s definitely the highlight of my athletic career at Harrison High School,” Deliallisi said.

After the bright lights of the state championship faded and winter came around the senior took his talents to the wrestling mat, where he is one of the wrestling team’s three co-captains.

At 171 pounds Deliallisi is one of the larger athletes on the team, but this year as a senior captain he sees himself more mature than in years past.

“I realize that this is my last year in Harrison athletics,” he said, “so I want to give it my all and it has made me mature a little.”

Deliallisi said if he had to pick one sport over the other it would be a difficult decision, but the senior feels that his natural talents are more suited for the wrestling mat. He also feels that he knows the sport better and understands the finer points of wrestling more than football.

Next year the senior is still undecided as to where he will continue his studies, but he is pretty sure his formal athletic career will come to an end at Harrison. He hopes to take that extra time to focus on studying criminal justice.

Best of luck and continued success to Korado Deliallisi, Harrison Patch’s athlete of the week.
