Lady Huskies Rally To Beat Port Chester

Harrison Girls Basketball beats Port Chester Wednesday night with strong performances by first and secondary players.

The Harrison Girls Basketball team easily defeated the Port Chester Rams  56 to 25 at Harrison High School on January 6th.

Just returning from Christmas break, the girls rallied together and stayed strong throughout the game, despite the fact that many couldn't play over the break.

"We played good," Captain Nicole Nannariello said. "It was hard for some of us because not all of us were around during the break and could not play. A lot of secondary players played, but they stepped up."

At half time, the Huskies were winning 33 to 7 and Port Chester fans showed their frustrations with their team by yelling their exasperation from the stands.

Assistant coach Siobhan Loughlin said she was proud of the way the team came together.

"This game was a good check to see how hard we worked over break," she said. "We came out stronger than the past. They were committed to winning this game from the start."

" I think we played really well", said Johanna Valentzas. It was a good way to start just coming off break."

The girls' next computation comes Friday night when they try to take down Bryam Hills.

"They should be better competition," Nannariello said.
