Daily Sports Digest: Volleyball Cruises to Victory, Local Teams Go Pink

Most of the local teams were still recovering from the busy weekend, but Harrison’s volleyball team did hit the road to defeat Tappan Zee with ease. Today Harrison will host three games including two contests dedicated to breast cancer awareness.

Score:  Harrison Won 3-0

Highlights: It didn’t take long, as the Huskies cruised to victory in straight sets on the road. Jessica Segal led the way for Harrison with 20 assists as she and Lily Stokoe each had 7 kills in the win.

Today’s Schedule:

In field hockey, Harrison will look to hand Rye their first loss of the season at 4:15 p.m. at McGillicuddy Stadium. This will be Harrison’s senior day.

In girl’s soccer, Harrison will host Byram Hills at 4:30 p.m., but more importantly the teams will be participating in a “Pink Game”. Harrison has ordered special jerseys for the occasion, and Byram Hills will be wearing pink socks.

In girl’s swimming, Harrison will head to Westchester Community College to take on Westlake at 5 p.m.

In volleyball, Rye and Harrison will face off at Harrison at 4:30 p.m. The volleyball teams will be wearing pink to support breast cancer awareness.
