Softball All-Stars Win District Tournament

The Harrison Little League 9-10 softball all-star team won the District 20 tournament last night. 

Harrison capped off an undefeated run through of the district tournament with a 2-1 win against Eastchester. Harrison will advance to the section tournament. 

The Harrison boys in the 9-10 age group could capture another district title for Harrison Little League this weekend as well. The team beat Ardsley last night to advance to the championship of the District 20 tournament.

To win, Harrison will have to beat Sherman Park twice, as Sherman Park is undefeated and Harrison is coming to the title game from the loser’s bracket. 

Harrison is in the loser’s bracket because of Sherman Park, which beat Harrison 10-5 in the semifinals earlier this week.

Harrison and Sherman Park face off Saturday at 11 a.m. at Disbrow Park in Rye.

Olympic Sailing Team To Hold Party In Larchmont

The U.S. Olympic sailing team will stop off for a meet-and-greet in Larchmont on July 14 before heading over to London for the Summer Games.

The event is presented by the Junior Sailing Association of Long Island Sound and Larchmont Yacht Club from 3-6 p.m. and will take place at the Larchmont Yacht Club.

“The Good Luck USA Send-Off presented by Maclaren” party is free to attend with advanced registration. Information about the party and registration can be found here.

The party will give fans a chance to meet the 16 Olympic and six Paralympic athletes. The team includes three members from New York: Amanda Clark from Shelter Island, Debbie Capozzi from Bayport and Erik Storck from Huntington.
