Daily Sports Digest: Soccer Struggles Continue

The boys soccer team played their final home game of the year in a loss to Byram Hills Wednesday. The Huskies have had a difficult season, as the team has only won one game so far. Harrison also competed in the cross-country championships on Tuesday and several of the Huskies did very well individually as the boys finished second and the girls in fourth.

Game: Byram Hills @ Harrison

Score:  Harrison Lost 1-0

Highlights: After holding Byram Hills scoreless in the first half, the Harrison defense gave up the game’s only goal to Byram's Jordan Bank and fell 1-0 in the team’s final home game. Harrison’s Robert Medori had eight saves in the loss.

Sport: Cross-Country

Game: Boys County Championships (From Tuesday)

Score: Second Place (71 Points)

Highlights: Senior Chris D’Antona finished third overall with a time of 17:32.3. Trey Wasilesky and Ben Adler of the Huskies also finished in the top ten. The trio of D’Antona, Wasilesky and Adler made all-league.

Sport: Cross Country

Game: Girls County Championships (From Tuesday)

Score: Fourth Place (81 Points)

Highlights: Several Huskies were under the weather and didn’t get the final score they were hoping for, but Harrison's Sara Purinton finished the race in fifth with a time of 21:32.9 and teammate Alex Sanchez came in eight. Both Sanchez and Purinton made all-league.

Today’s Schedule:

In girl’s soccer, Harrison will head to Fox Lane to take on the Foxes. Harrison lost the previous matchup 3-0.

In girl’s swimming, Harrison and Rye will meet up at Hommocks Middle School for a 4:30 meet.

In volleyball, Croton Harmon will host the streaking Huskies at 6 p.m.
