Junior Bianca Harris of Teaneck, NJ scored 10 points and pulled down five rebounds, but the Dominican College women’s basketball team had a four-game winning streak snapped, losing to Southern Connecticut State University, 70-32, in a non-conference game at the Moore Field House in New Haven, CT.

Suffern Graduate Standouts for Dolphins

The College of Mount Saint Vincent women’s basketball team, which dropped its third straight contest and fell to 3-9 in its last 12 games in Riverdale with a 63-48 loss to Old Westbury, visits powerhouse Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh tonight (Jan. 12) at 7 p.m.

The host Knights are rolling at 11-2.

Mount Saint Vincent got off to a good start against the Panthers, taking a quick 7-2 lead after buckets from Brittany Griffin of Suffern and Tanisha Montague of Brooklyn, along with a three-pointer by Sarah Kluth of Lynbrook who scored a team-high 13 points.

The Dolphins would match their game-high lead at the 13:01 mark of the first half after a Griffin jumper, but would then allow a 25-2 Old Westbury run over a nine-minute stretch to open a 33-19 lead at intermission.

The Dolphins finished the game shooting 23.1 percent from the floor and have now shot under 30 percent for a game in four contests this season. The Mount went 3-for-17 from behind the arc and 9-for-14 from the free-throw line.
