Harrison’s Marino Sharp For Springfield

Harrison's Ashley Marino is second on the Springfield College Pride (6-3) pitching staff with a 3-2 record and a sparkling 1.46 ERA.

A 2010, graduate, Marino left Harrison as the all-time leader in several categories, . Now, as a sophomore at Springfield, she is leading the pride with 27 strikeouts in 24 innings pitched.

Sophomore outfielder Christina Leader of Yorktown Heights is batting .231 in nine games for the team, which visits Clark University in Worcester, MA, at noon on Saturday for a scheduled twin-bill.

WCC Enjoys Early Season Success

The WCC Vikings began their season in Florida, and 11 games in the team is 5-5-1.

One of the team’s leaders is Chris Fumasoli, of Rye, who in nine games has picked up three runs and five RBI. Fumasoli also earned a win pitching four innings in relief. Tuckahoe freshman Jamie Maldonado has also made his mark in five games with two hits, two runs and 1 RBI.

Harrison graduate Zack Eklund pitched six innings only giving up three hits and striking out four in the no decision.

The Vikings will take on the Borough of Manhattan Community College today.

Eight Valiants Commended for Academics

The winter sports season wrapped up weeks ago for Manhattanville, but the awards keep coming as the Middle Atlantic Conference names their winter honor roll.

In total eight Valiants were named, including 2009 Harrison High School graduate Christi Marraccini of the women’s track and field team.

CYP Tournament Continues

The CYP Basketball Tournament continues tonight as the PC Savages take on the BC Eagles at 7:15 p.m. and the Metro Hawks face off against Playmaker Academy at 8:30 p.m.

All games are played at Our Lady of Mercy School on Washington Street in Port Chester. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children.

White Plains Welcomes “March Madness” Card Show

JP’s Sports/Rock Solid Promotions Inc are putting on a card show in White Plains over the next three days at the Westchester County Center. Today the doors are open from 2 - 8 p.m., tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday the hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $7 per day and on Saturday there is a complimentary Roy White autograph and a complimentary Bobby Shantz signature.

Other guests expected to appear on Saturday are baseball Hall of Famers Andre Dawson, Roberto Alomar and Wade Boggs.

The New York Giants will take over Sunday, as Super Bowl champions Jake Ballard, Linval Joseph, Chris Snee, Mario Manningham, Hakeem Nicks and Michael Boley are all expected to be in attendance as well as Hall of Famer Harry Carson.

The next card show at the County Center will be the weekend of May 11.
