The Top Spot:

Decorated Harrison graduate Duke Alvora added another award to his trophy case this week, earning the Maritime College “Defensive Attack” award at the school's 2011 Season Team Award Banquet at Yankee Stadium.

Alvora graduated from Harrison High School last June and since then the linebacker has been making his presence felt as a Maritime College Privateer. While at Harrison he was a three-sport athlete, starting for the football team on both sides of the ball as a freshman.

Weekly Sports Poll:

This week’s poll deals with the New York Jets and quarterbacks Mark Sanchez and Peyton Manning. If you were sitting in General Manager Mike Tannenbaum’s chair would you make a hard push for the NFL’s only four-time MVP, would you ride out the turbulence with the Sanchize, or would you bring in Manning to mentor Sanchez in his fourth year in the league?
