Fordham Prep sophomore Patrick Conaton will compete at the U.S. Olympic swimming trials this Friday in the 200-meter backstroke.

Conaton, who lives in Bronxville, will compete in morning session Friday, and if he advances to the semifinals, he’ll compete that same night. Should Conaton advance past the semifinal, he’ll compete in the finals on Saturday for a shot at swimming in London this summer.

Earlier this year, Conaton was part of a Fordham team that won its second consecutive New York State Federation Championship. In the meet, Conaton was part of the 4x100-meter freestyle relay team that tied for first with Tappan Zee. He earned All-American honors for the relay, and All-American consideration for 100-meter backstroke and 4x50-meter freestyle relay.
