Batting For Harrison

After finding an old, 1928 group photo of her uncle, Sheridan Dowling, at age 13 with what looked like an "official" baseball team, Brenda McKay was intrigued.

"My family lived in Harrison back in the 1930s and 40s," said McKay in an email.

McKay said her mother, Louise Dowling, along with six siblings, grew up in Harrison, residing on both Park and Harrison Avenues.

"My family and I had never heard any stories of him playing baseball, much less being on a  team," she said, adding, "I've been doing the family research for the last several years and this latest photo was a great find.  Finding any details about it would make it even better."
