Baseball Playoffs Start Thursday, Softball Friday

Harrison has earned two top-5 seeds on the diamond in 2012, as both the baseball and softball teams hope for Section I championships.

The highly-seeded Harrison baseball team will need to win three games in three days if it hopes to return to the Section I championship game for the first time , starting with Thursday's game at home against Nanuet.

Nanuet (18) defeated Eastchester 5-1 during an out-of-bracket game Wednesday to set a date with the second-seeded Huskies. A win Thursday and the Huskies will be right back at it again Friday afternoon with another game at Harrison High School.

A win there means the baseball team will play in a semi-final game Saturday, also at Harrison High School.

Harrison's fourth-seeded softball team will also be in action this week, hosting the winner of Thursday night's out-of-bracket game between Somers (20) and Lakeland (13) on Friday afternoon.

The softball bracket picks up again next week, a win on Friday and Harrison would play again on May 29. Another win would advance them to a May 31 semi-final match up with hopes of going to the finals on June 2 in Nanuet.
