Bad Weather Washes Away Busy Sports Night

The Harrison football and soccer games on Thursday night were cancelled due to rain and lightning.

Heavy rain and lightning cancelled Thursday night's scheduled football and soccer double feature at Harrison High School's McGillicuddy Stadium.

The football team made it into the first quarter of a game with Sleepy Hollow, while the boy's soccer team never got to start its bout with the Mamaroneck Tigers.

With just over nine minutes left in the first quarter of the football game the skies opened up and lightning in the area caused officials to pull the players from the field. Fans sitting in the stadium were sent to the High School gym for their own safety.
