Ruck to Leave HHS After 2012-13 School Year

Harrison High School Principal James Ruck will retire in 2013 after finishing his seventh year.

Next school year will be principal James Ruck's last at Harrison High School.

The Harrison Board of Education accepted Ruck's letter of retirement Wednesday night effective June 30, 2013, meaning he will return for one more school year in 2012-13.

A former superintendent on Long Island, Ruck joined the district in 2006 to provide stability in the principal position in Harrison, said Superintendent Louis Wool.

"We had gone through many years of turnover at the principalship and I turned to a veteran retired superintendent from Long Island, Jim Ruck, to do a short stint for me," said Wool.

Wool went on to thank Ruck an "extraordinary effort on his part to unify and wrap his arm around the faculty and students and leadership team at the high school."
