Parsons Students 'Pause for a Cause'

Harrison elementary school students have been busy over the last few months, helping several local organizations through their charitable work.

Another month seems to mean another good deed for students at who have been helping out with a different community program every month dating back to December of last year.

While participating in a program called "Pause for a Cause", students started their efforts before winter break by wearing pajamas to school and bringing a bedtime item to donate to a family in need. Kindergarteners and first graders brought toothbrushes and toothpaste; 2nd and 3rd graders contributed stuffed animals or books; and 4th and 5th graders donated pajamas. In total, 25 bags were collected and donated to Harrison residents in need.

The effort continued in January, when students continued their Sandwich Brigade efforts from the fall, working together to make sandwiches for a local homeless shelter and donating boxes of food to the Harrison Food Pantry.
