L.M.K. Students Raise $700 For Breast Cancer Awareness

Students sold pink bracelets for $1 with all proceeds going toward the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Harrison middle school students showed support for breast cancer awareness this month one dollar at a time.

Students at raised a total of $700 through the sale of pink bracelets sold for $1 each in a program entitled "Dollars for Dedication". The sixth, seventh and eight grade student councils organized the fundraiser, with all proceeds going toward the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Donors who purchased the bracelets wrote their names, or the name of someone they wanted to dedicate the donation to, on a ribbons that were displayed in the school's front lobby.

Students presented the $700 check to Darrin Goldin, a representative from the foundation, to help kick-off the school's Wellness Week. Goldin thanked the entire L.M.K. community, emphasizing that even the youngest members of society can make a difference.
