Harrison's award-winning marching band performs in front of more than 200,000 people at Stamford's annual Balloon Parade.

More than two miles of excited spectators cheered on Sunday afternoon as they marched in the annual UBS parade in Stamford, CT.

About 200,000 people attended the parade, according to Harrison Band Director Fred Pasqua, who said these types of events are the ultimate experience for any type of performer.

"As they come down the streets and hundreds of thousands of people are cheering and lining the sidewalks, it's exhilarating," Pasqua said. "Obviously performers love an audience, they love an applause for their efforts and to have all of that here at such a significant event made the whole day special for them."

"The kids that were able to attend performed beautifully and made us all proud," Pasqua said, thanking the students and five other instructors and directors who helped make this weekend a reality.

Pasqua said Harrison's band hasn't played at this large of a venue in at least a decade, calling the event the perfect way to wrap-up the marching and stadium unit for the band. Sunday's performance was the last of this type for the band's seniors, as focus will now shift toward concert performances scheduled over the winter.

"When they perform at these types of things they create a lifetime memory," said Pasqua. "It's something they will always remember."
