HEF Donates $11K to Harrison School Programs

The donation will fund a variety of student programs including Harrison High School Law Day, Spotlight Night and beginning reading and math in all of the district's elementary schools.

The Harrison Board of Education has accepted a donation from the Harrison Education Foundation (HEF) that will support a handful of popular school programs and activities.

Programs like Law Day, 's Spotlight Night and the garden are supported annually through donations from the HEF. This year's $10,957 donation will help fund five school programs as well as the beginning reading and math programs at all four of the district's elementary schools.

"We have one of the most extraordinary foundations in the State of New York," said Harrison Superintendent Louis Wool. "This is a small sample of the kinds of programs that are funded in addition to the big projects that partner."

Wool also noted that the HEF helped fund the construction of four new science labs at Harrison High School.
