Thomas H. Wright Lecture

Leading expert in early childhood development, Patricia Ramsey, EdD, will deliver a talk “Teaching and Learning in a Diverse and Inequitable World,” the 2012 Thomas H. Wright Lecture, at Sarah Lawrence College, Monday, July 9 at 4:30 p.m. in the Heimbold Visual Arts Center auditorium.  Presented by the College’s Child Development Institute, the lecture is free and open to the public. Dr. Ramsey’s expertise includes social development, early attitude development, and multicultural education for young children. She is currently a Professor of psychology and education at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts and previously headed the college’s Gorse Child Study Center for 20 years. Throughout her career, Dr. Ramsey has served as a consultant for various preschools and school systems and has authored numerous publications including What If All the Kids Are White? Engaging White Children and Teachers in Multicultural Education; Teaching and Learning in a Diverse World; and Multicultural Education: A Resource Book.
