Purchase College students to Join Thousands at Climate Rallies across the Globe
On rollerskates, bicycles, unicycles, skateboards, scooters, and foot, grassroots movement uses fossil fuel-free transportation to call for solutions to climate change.
Purchase, New York— Hundreds of Purchase College students will converge by rollerskate, bicycle, skateboard, scooter, unicycle, and foot onto the Great Lawn at Purchase College for an eco-activist festival this Saturday, September 24th in solidarity with hundreds of thousands of other Moving Planet events organized worldwide. In coalition with 350.org, the Purchase College Green Team and the Purchase Chapter of NYPIRG (the New York Public Interest Research Group)’s Moving Planet event will feature informational tables from a myriad of campus greening projects, yoga workshops, an opportunity for students to up-cycle at a clothing swap, recycled arts & crafts tutorials, live music ranging from folk to alternative rock to electronic bass music, and a living, breathing human windmill to be formed and documented by an aerial photo at 3:50pm.

Events at Purchase College are part of a worldwide day of action calling for a fossil fuel-free world and solutions to climate change at all levels of government. Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to participate by moving their bodies towards solutions to climate change in nearly 2,000 events across the globe.
