Seven Purchase College-SUNY journalism students met recently with the Jean Leonetti, the mayor of Antibes, France who is also a member of the French national assembly and a vice-president of the UMP, the party of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
The students interviewed Leonetti about the local economy, French national politics and the austerity measures in place across Europe.
The students are part of a group of 19 students with the Purchase Study Abroad program in France. All of the students are enrolled in French classes at the Centre International d’Antibes, also taking either a drawing or journalism elective.
