Town Master Plan Discussion Set For Tuesday

The Harrison Town/Village Board will update the public on their on-going work to update the town's master plan.

The project that has eluded local administrations for decades will be at the forefront of public interest Tuesday evening, as the Harrison Town Board will hold an open discussion about the Master Plan.

Last updated in 1988, the Master Plan is a wide-reaching document outlining the future plans for the community. It covers zoning, defines business districts and sets an overall guideline for future development.

A movement to update the plan gained publicity most recently under the Joan Walsh administration, but was never completed. Completing an updated plan remains a priority under current Mayor/Supervisor Ron Belmont.

Although the public is not invited to participate in discussion during the meeting, this is the first open discussion of the Master Plan in recent years.

The meeting is scheduled for 8 p.m. Tuesday at the downtown.
