Town Board Set to Discuss New Master Plan

The Harrison Town/Village Board will hold a public hearing Wednesday night to discuss the town's Master Plan draft.

The Harrison Town/Village Board is moving closer to completing an updated Master Plan for the first time since 1988.

The next step in the adoption process will take place Wednesday evening, when the draft will go to a public hearing. The board has been working with BFJ Planning since this spring to complete an updated draft.

The Master Plan outlines zoning, population density and future development plans. The Board has directed BFJ Planning to place an emphasis on Harrison's downtown and Platinum Mile.

Early proposals for the Platinum Mile included the introduction of mixed-zoning, including small pockets of residential property as well as some commercial uses. Downtown plans have focused on the proposed MTA project and surrounding area.

The public hearing will take place during the board's regular business meeting starting at 7:30 p.m. at Harrison Town Hall.
