POLL: Is Overnight Commercial Parking Ban Fair?

A new law will go into affect this spring banning overnight parking of commercial vehicles in residential neighborhoods, do you think the law is fair?

Nearly a dozen upset Harrison residents attended Thursday evening's town board meeting to ask town leadership a simple question:

After a long day's work, where are we supposed to park?

On Jan. 5, Harrison Town Board  vehicles in residential neighborhoods. The new law, designed to clear the streets for parking and create a better town aesthetic, will go into affect March 1. At that time vehicles parked in the residential zones from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. will be ticketed $100.

But owners of these vehicles, mostly blue-collar workers from West Harrison, say they are now left without a place to park near their own homes. They already can't park in their driveways and say the new law leaves them stuck between a rock and a hard place.
