Plaque Honors Late Town Clerk Joe Acocella

About 20 people gathered for a brief ceremony Tuesday morning at the Harrison dog park on Crystal St.

There is now a permanent reminder of Joseph Acocella Jr. at the site of one of his favorite projects—the Harrison dog park.

About 20 people gathered at the park on Tuesday to officially unveil a plaque honoring the late town clerk. In 2009, Acocella worked with R.J. Suhre to bring the park to Crystal St. as part of an Eagle Scout project. Since opening in 2010, the park has been a hit with Harrison residents.

The plaque is displayed on a rock and is located in the park near a bench donated in Acocella's name.
