New Trash Routes Take Effect This Week

Some residents may have new collection days along with the curbside trash pick-up.

Starting Monday, Harrison's much discussed sanitation changes will go into effect, and there are several things residents need to be aware of this week.

All trash must be placed at curbside, the same as is done for recycling and bulk-trash.

Pick-up routes are also being modified, and for some households, the collection days will be different. The hour at which its picked up could also differ, and the Town of Harrison recommends all trash be placed curbside by 6 a.m. the day of collection, or the night before.

Beginning Monday, all garbage pick-ups will be designated as either "blue zone" or "black zone." Blue zone will have Monday and Thursday pick-ups, while the black zone will have Tuesday and Friday pick-ups.
