Patch: What is your platform for running for this position? What should voters know about you before making their decision?

Corvino: My vision is to enhance the services of the town clerk’s office through expanded hours, house calls to those in need, faster turnaround time for posting of important town documents, online accessibility for licenses and permits, maximizing the use of new technology for cost efficiency and finally redesigning the town website at no cost to the residents. I am a determined individual, and I plan to invest 200 percent in making Harrison a better place to live.

Patch: What is one thing you hope to improve about the way the town clerk’s office functions right now? How will you go about making this change?

Corvino: To state it simply, accessibility. Online licenses and permits. Online will simplify life for many residents. Evening and weekend hours, combined with mobile services would facilitate the personal touch.

Patch: How does your personal background prepare you to succeed at this position?

Corvino: I am service oriented with a strong work ethic and with strong family values. I credit my parents for instilling in me the values of integrity and service to others. These values have led me to this point today. I have three siblings. All of us are service oriented, and it comes from my family background. I am a Cum Laude graduate of Pace University with a BS: Computer Information Systems and a Minor in business. My education will allow me to upgrade the technology of the office. Outsourcing will not be necessary.

Patch: If elected, what is one specific thing that will be different about the town clerk’s office one year after you take office?

Corvino: The office will be technologically upgraded for the ease of the residents. For instance ,timely postings of town board resolutions and meeting minutes, timely responses to Freedom of Information Requests (FOIL) via email, and a new face to the town website.

Patch: How do you make improvements in the town clerk’s office while remaining fiscally responsible?

Corvino: My education and familiarity with information systems are a perfect addition to the excellent staff currently in the clerk’s office. My goal would be to work in concert with the staff to maximize the use of new technologies at minimal or no cost to the residents.

Patch: Tell us something about you voters probably don’t know at this point?

Corvino: I am energetic, and eager to make a significant impact for the betterment of our town. I do not believe politics should influence the town clerk's responsiveness to the needs of our residents. People are frustrated with politics due to the lack of teamwork, and commitment to work for the common good. I see the clerk’s office as an opportunity to assist in the restoration of Harrison’s image.
