Walsh has been working for the town of Harrison since the 70s. She moved to Harrison in 1964. Her four children went to Harrison schools and Walsh served on the Parent Teacher Association and the League of Women Voters. She worked as a town clerk and was elected the first woman mayor in 2008.
Harrison residents came out to celebrate a new term.
Robert Davidson, a retired lawyer said he was happy to see Walsh in office again.
"She has a very good attitude about money," the 64-year-old said. "She does not spend it without reason and that is in short supply in politics."
At the end of the ceremony Walsh told residents to continue to take part.
"I invite you to come to board meetings and I invite you to keep sending your emails, I get 50 a day," she laughed.
Before she left the podium, she made a vow.
"I will continue to strive and maintain your expectations."
