Malfitano Tapped as Deputy Mayor/Supervisor

A former Mayor/Supervisor himself, Steve Malfitano will be appointed to the position Thursday night.

Steve Malfitano will serve as deputy mayor/supervisor in addition to his position as councilman on the Harrison Town Board.

As deputy mayor/supervisor, he would step in for newly-appointed Mayor/Supervisor Ron Belmont in an emergency, if Belmont is absent or unable to act. Malfitano will also run board meetings if Belmont is unable to attend.

The position pays $5,000 more per-year than the three other town council positions.

In Harrison, the mayor/supervisor chooses the deputy mayor/supervisor before each two-year term. Malfitano will be appointed during Thursday evening's town board meeting.
