League of Women Voters to Host Primary Debate, July 31st
Rival primary candidates for County Legislature Democratic party slot will debate on Wednesday, July 31st at Mamaroneck Town Center. Doors open at 7:00pm. Debate between Tom Murphy and Catherine Parker begins 7:30pm.
An election primary between Democrats Tom Murphy and Catherine Parker for the Westchester County Legislative seat held by Judy Myers who is not running for another term is set for Sept. 10th, 2013.
Registered Democrats in District 7, which includes Mamaroneck, Larchmont, Rye and portions of Harrison and New Rochelle, will vote primary winner will appear on the Democratic line on ballots for the general election in November.
To help voters learn more about the candidates, on July 31st, the League of Women Voters of Larchmont-Mamaroneck will moderate the debate in the Courtroom of the Mamaroneck Town Center, 740 West Boston Post Rd., on Wednesday, July 31, 7:30 PM (Doors Open at 7:00pm). The debate will include a discussion of the candidates' qualifications and a chance for the them to questions posed by the LWV and audience members.
The debate is open to the public and according to a release from the Larchmont Mamaroneck League of Women Voters, LMC-TV will broadcast the event and re-air it in the run-up to the primary.
