Harvard-Bound Students Honored for Achievements

The Harrison Town Board honored 2012 graduates Emma Adler and Nikki Erlick, both women were finalists for the National Merit Scholarship.

Two high-achieving local students were publicly recognized this week for their accomplishments in and outside of the classroom.

Harrison High School graduate Emma Adler and School of the Holy Child graduate Nikki Erlick were recognized before the June 21 Harrison Town Board meeting. Both women were finalists for the National Merit Scholarship and will attend Harvard University this fall.

"It is inspiring that these two women have made such tremendous accomplishments," said Harrison Mayor/Supervisor Ron Belmont.

Erlick is a member of the National Honor Society, served as editor-in-chief of Holy Child’s school newspaper, was co-captain of the Model UN Club and the varsity tennis team, and founder and co-president of the Mandarin Club.

Adler has been the Editor-in Chief of Harrison's award winning school newspaper, The Husky Herald, and was captain of the academic quiz team. She also co-directed the complex spring play “The Children’s Hour” and performed with the HHS Marching Band and Chorus at the National Heritage Music Festival in Chicago.

Both women were presented with certificates from the Harrison Town Board.
