Harrison Man Caught With Forged Debit Cards and Machine to Produce Them, Police Say

A routine traffic stop resulted in his, and another man's arrest.

A routine traffic stop, after a driver failed to signal while changing lanes, resulted in the recovery of forged debit cards and a machine which was used to produce them, police said.

On Jan. 29 at 6:40 p.m. officer Ryan Noone of the Yorktown Police Department was on patrol when he allegedly saw a blue Cadilac failing to signal while changing lanes on Route 6, near the Taconic Parkway.

The driver was identified as Joseph C. Palazzo, 38, from Harrison. A computer check revealed there were active warrants from Florida and Pennsylvania for him. He and his passenger Kevin M. Myers, 44, from the Bronx, were in possession of forged debt cards and a magnetic credit card reader/writer to produce forged credit and debit cards.

Police charged them with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and criminal possession of a forgery device, both felonies.

Palazzo and Myers were taken to the Yorktown Police Department, and then remanded to the Westchester County Jail on $50,000 bail. They were scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 1, but because of the weather the court session was cancelled.
