Harrison Councilwoman To Endorse County Family Judge Candidate

Harrison Councilwoman Marlane Amelio will endorse Harrison resident Patricia O'Callaghan for County Family Court Judge on Wednesday.

Harrison Councilwoman Marlane Amelio has come out in strong support of Harrison resident Patricia O'Callaghan for the position of Westchester County Family Court Judge.

Amelio is to deliver the opening remarks in O'Callaghan's election campaign at the Westchester Hills Golf Club in White Plains Wednesday night. The event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m.

O'Callaghan is well known in the public service arena, where she has been active for over 25 years. O'Callaghan grew up in Larchmont and now lives with her husband in Harrison. O'Callaghan had two children Tim, now 26 and a daughter who died while at college, crossing a campus street. The family runs an annual fundraiser in her name that provides scholarships to the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich.

Amelio says ensuring the right person wins the election for this position is critical.

"The Family Court Judge is an important position given the rise in child and domestic violence, divorce and drug use. We need someone dedicated to making objective decisions who can be fair, impartial and respectful to the position and to all who enter the family court process," Amelio said.

Amelio feels O'Callaghan is the candidate who can best fulfill that important role and the councilwoman will be a strong support in her election race.

The election will be held on November 2.
