Dist. 14 Voter Ballot Box Malfunctioned, Votes To Be Counted Tomorrow

Reports from poll watchers indicate that there are malfunctioned voter boxes in districts 14, 7 and 9.

At least one ballot box machine malfunctioned and could not be fixed today, according to Joe Derwin, Chairperson Harrison Democratic Committee.  An estimated 320 votes are sealed in a malfunctioned voter ballot box in District 14. The box is located at Park Lane Reserve and, according to Derwin, was sealed after it became inoperable.

Additionally, poll watchers have said that the ballot boxes in districts 7 and 9 have broken, said Derwin.

There are 30 voter ballot boxes in the race: one for each district and one handicap box for each polling site.

The boxes will be taken to a Westchester County Board of Elections warehouse in Armonk to be fixed, where tomorrow, the votes will be counted. Voters who arrived after the box malfunctioned completed emergency ballots, which will be processed just like absentee ballots.
